Sets off from Avondale House along the Scotts Pine and Eucalyptus lined trails to the Avonmore River. From here it follows the River and Avonmore Way to Clara Vale Church.

Beginning at the ancient bridge of Clara Vale, competitors follow the Avonmore Way up over Trooperstown Hill and down past the Wicklow Mountain Rescue HQ just outside Laragh Village. From here you cross over the main Roundwood road and climb up onto the Wicklow Way. Once on the Wicklow Way you head north along the Way to Paddock Hill.

From Paddock Hill, runners head north along the Wicklow Way past Oldbridge and up over Sliabh Boc to Lough Tay.

This Leg follows the Wicklow Way south up over Paddock Hill and down onto the Laragh/Glenmacnass road. Runners cross the road here and continue along the W.W. until they have crossed the footbridge at which point they leave the W.W. by keeping left and follow the fire road down to a barrier where you keep left down the hill to a shop on your right hand side on the main Laragh to Glendalough road. From here you cross the road and run left in the direction of Lynham's Pub, at which point you turn right and run along the main Laragh to Rathdrum road for 430 metres to a small white pedestrian gate leading to the GAA Pavilion and Change over point.

Leg 5 Laragh to Glenmalure Lodge

The final and toughest leg of 'The Relay' sets off from Laragh GAA Club and runs through the Woolen Mills yard and along the Green road for about 500 metres where you keep left along the Orange road for a further 2.5km. At this point you will take a left turn onto the WW and follow it up onto the Board walk at Mullacor Mountain. From here take a deep breath, note the
view and enjoy the final fast 5.5km descent to the finish at Glenmalure Lodge.
